At the September 14th, 1992 meeting of the North Star
League, the membership voted unanimously for the league to have its
own Hall of Fame. Six members were selected and awards were first presented
during the 1993 season.

2010 Inductees
Mike Gagnon, Howard
Lake
Mike played 15 years at shortstop for Maple Lake batting over .400 many
times on his way to a lifetime .300 hitter. In 1995 Mike helped restart
baseball in Howard Lake where he was playing manager. Mike won four
batting titles and was named MVP four times.
Herb Koch, Loretto
Herb played shortstop for Loretto for 34 years. Herb was a lifetime
.300 hitter who also pitched in relief when needed. Herb became Loretto
manager at the age of 19 and managed the team while playing. Herb served
as league secretary-treasurer for 14 years and currently is league president.
Mark Forsman, Dassel-Cokato
Mark was a second basemen playing for D-C for 18 years and has managed
D-C for 32 years. The Dassel ball park received a big face left due
to his efforts. Mark also served on the State Baseball Board
John Timpe, Maple Plain
John has managed Maple Plain for 40 years, longer than any manager in
league history. Under his guidance a new ball field was built in Maple
Plain.
2009 Inductees
Jerry Ruppelius, Loretto
Jerry played baseball for 15 years, mainly at third base. Jerry batted
over .300 most of his career. Jerry was an excellent fielder who never
let any ground balls go through the left side of the infield. Jerry
was a great clutch hitter but more importantly was a great team leader.
Dave Burns, Dassel-Cokato
Dave played baseball for 18 years, 9 years with
the D-C Saints. Dave was the premier left handed pitcher of the league
during his 9 years with the Saints winning 85 games. Dave was a big
game pitcher winning over 90% of the playoff games he pitched.
Gary Porter, Maple
Lake
Gary played baseball for 37 years. Gary re-started
Maple Lake baseball in 1975 and was their playing managing for 29 years.
Gary also helped bring two state tournaments to Maple Lake in 1984 and
1997. Gary was very dedicated to amateur baseball and a good team leader.
Mike Mitchell, Howard Lake
Mike played centerfield for the Orphans for 8 years before his job career
took him out of the area. When Mike retired from his job, he severed
as president of Orphans baseball doing every job that needed to be done.
The beauty of the Howard Lake's ball park is a direct result of Mike's
hard work.
Brian Larson
"Bookie", Dassel-Cokato
Brian has served in many league capacities for over 35 years, from doing
the league schedule, and statistics while compiling league history records.
Brian started the North Star Hall of Fame with the help of Dick Traen.
