Posthumous Hall of Fame

At the September 14th, 1992 meeting of the North Star League, the membership voted unanimously for the league to have its own Hall of Fame. Six members were selected and awards were first presented during the 1993 season.

2008 Inductees

Scott Soltau Monticello

Played town team baseball for Monticello and Buffalo for 21 years. Scott was a lifetime .300 hitter while playing first base, DH and pitching. Scott was named to the league all-star team 10 times during his playing career.

Bob Kinsel Kingston

Played 12 years for Kingston, Waverly, Sauk Center and Litchfield.
" Pork Chop" Bob was a hard throwing left hander who threw a blazing fast ball and a sharp breaking curve ball. This led to Bob averaging 16 strikeouts a game.

Dale Decker Maple Lake

Dale played baseball for Maple Lake for 24 years. Dale played first base, third base and did a lot of pitching. Dale was a two time batting champ, a three time E.R.A champ. MVPitcher three times and MVPlayer once. Dale was the ultimate team player.

Tom Ditty Delano

Tom was a complete ball player who could play any position. Tom was a lifetime .300 hitter along with being a seven time league all- star pitcher.

2007 Inductees

Roger Ketel of St Michael

Was the manager at St Michael for 16 years. During his 16 years Roger's team won 6 league championship, 3 Class C region championships, 5 Class B section championships. In 1996, Roger's team took 3rd place in the state tournament and in 1997 St Michael won the Class C state championship.

Grant Ketel of St Michael

Grant was a pitcher for St Michael for 20 years. During this time Grant was voted the league's Most Valuable Pitcher 7 times. Grant won the league's E.R.A title four times and was league runner-up in E.R.A titles four times. Grant holds four league records: Most wins in the regular season with 10, Most career wins in the regular season with 82, Fewest walks allowed during a season with 2 and Most consecutive innings pitch without allowing a walk at 42 innings.

Dick Traen of Delano

Dick was a pitcher, catcher and first basemen for 28 years. Dick was the first pitcher to finish the regular season with an E.R.A. under 1.00 in 1974. After Dick's playing career he served as league president for 21 years. The league double in the number of teams during his time as president.

Dale Isaacson of Dassel-Cokato

Dale was an outfielder for 17 years. Dale was a lifetime .300 hitter and was named on the league all-star team every year he played. Dale was a very gifted outfielder who not only could cover his area but had a great throwing arm, throwing many base runners out who tried to score from third base on a fly ball.
